KATIE (SHELTIE) AND ELMO (GREEN-CHEEK CONURE) GIVE COMFORT TO A RESIDENT AT A LOCAL ELDERLY FACILITY

The remarkable thing about this picture is that Elmo is a rescue that entered our program about six months ago and he holds no grudges about his past. He still has plenty of love to give.

Twice a month my pets and I go to elderly homes and perform for the residents which is a wonderful experiance. We always meet such interesting people who have lived very full lives and have a realm of wonderful stories to tell

PET THERAPY

Pet Therapy has become a growing trend and stastics have proven the remarkable changes that take place in the well-being of a person after a pet visit.

I have personnely seen patients who spend most of their day sleeping or choose not to leave their room to join in activaties make remarkable changes and improvements after I start taking my dogs, parrots, cats, and other pets to visit them.

CINDY, KING, KATIE, AND SHYANN

I decided to start a therapy dog program from my home because I grew up spending most of my time in the hospital due to severe heart and lung problems.

I know what from experiance what the love and entertainment of a dog, cat, parrot or any pet can do for the sick or lonely. If it had not been for the love of God and all the animals that he brought into my life over the years my hospital days would have been a lot harder to get through.

Shelties are very active dogs, but mine have come to understand that there is a time to play and a time to be still, because there are many days I am bed ridden due to my health and that is what is so wonderful about pets they love you no matter what and are very accommondating to the needs of their owners.
