Reddy

Reddy is a 2 year old purebred sheltie in need of a special home. Reddy has a zinc diffency and requires a high quality dog food and a daily zinc supplement in order to maintain his health.  He is a very friendly, but shy dog he would do best in an elderly home, a home without children or in a home with one child who needs a special friend.  Reddy was born in a kennel with show dogs, but due to his zinc deffency was unable to be shown or bred, so he spent the first 9 months of his life in a kennel. He was never abused, but most of his contact was with other dogs which led to his extreme shyness.

He does well with other dogs and with cats. He is potty trained, but does have accidents if he gets scared, so he needs to be taken out regularly. I have started training him and he will sit, lay down, shake and walk on a leash with people he knows. Reddy loves to play tug of war and fetch he loves to cuddle with people he knows, but it will take awhile for him to adjust to a new home and people due to his shyness.

Reddy is located in Selma, Ca.

Stay tuned for more animals in need of rescue coming soon!

Reddy

Reddy, came to live with me when he was a year old and I began training him and searching for a special home for him. After three months of socializing and training, Reddy was neutered and went to live in a new home, but unfortunatly on his first night he was let out of the house and was lost. I spent the next three months searching for him.

When he was found he remembered me and was glad to be back in my arms. Reddy was limping and thin as a rail, but he never stopped wagging his tail and doing anything I asked of him. I have come to love Reddy and he will have a home with me as long as he lives or until a very special home becomes available for him.

The only reason I am even considering letting him go is because I have over 50 animals and together we show, do volunteer activaties and more, which doesn't give Reddy the quality one on one treatment I feel he has earned in his short life. Rescue work is about more than just loving animals. It's about doing the best thing for those animals.
